Nancy Duarte is an American writer, speaker, and CEO. She is well known for her three best-selling books, which include Resonate: Present Visual Stories that Transform Audiencesslide:ology: The Art and Science of Creating Great Presentations, and the "HBR Guide to Persuasive Presentations." as the CEO of Duarte Design, the largest design firm in Silicon Valley and the fifth largest female employer in the area. Nancy released the free eBook "Slidedocs", which fills the gap between cinematic slides and dense documents.  Her most recent book is Illuminate: Ignite Change Through Speeches, Stories, Ceremonies, and Symbols.  

In 2009, Duarte received the award for Mountain View Woman of the Year. In 2013, Nancy was awarded Microsoft's MVP Award for her work to help people excel with Microsoft PowerPoint. In 2013, she became a LinkedIn Influencer. Nancy Duarte was named Entrepreneur of the Year by USM, Communicator of the Year in 2007 and 2008, a member of the invitation-only group C200, and was featured on the cover of Toastmasters' July 2014 Issue.

Duarte worked with Al Gore on the documentary slide show known as An Inconvenient Truth. Duarte has long worked with TED Talks to improve the quality of presentations at the events.  She has also spoken several times herself at TED Talks.  She has also spoken widely at other venues, including South by Southwest and The World Domination Summit, hosted by Chris Guillebeau.
